70% of parents struggle with emotion regulation
Are you quick to react to your child's behaviour?
Many parents weren't taught emotional regulation, leading to quick reactions, more yelling, feeling triggered by their child's behavior, and becoming overstimulated.
This creates a cycle where we feel triggered by our child, react by yelling, and then feel guilty afterward. Emotion regulation is a skill, meaning it's something we need to learn and practice.
Would you like to learn how to...
- Stay calm and composed in the face of tantrums or during challenging moments.
- Take time for yourself without guilt and ensuring your own well-being while meeting your child’s needs.
- Set clear, compassionate boundaries that nurture your child and maintain your emotional balance.
- Effortlessly balance your time between work, parenting, and self-care, preventing burnout.
- Parent with confidence and self-compassion, silencing the inner critic and trusting your instincts.
How we define success after building emotion regulation skills through our program
Feel more patient and respond mindfully
You will notice that you will not react as much and you will respond to your child’s behaviours and emotions. You will be more patient when dealing with their behaviour including tantrums.
Feel more confident in how you parent
Everything you learn here is grounded in science, so even went Aunt Martha says you should discipline your child for having a tantrum, you will feel confident in how you respond to your child.
Gain awareness and understanding of your own triggers
Learning emotion regulation skills is far more than just a skill for parents. You will have healthier arguments with your partner, set boundaries with family members or co-workers and show up with self-compassion for yourself during personal challenges.

What Our Members Are Saying
Before joining the club, I did not have anyone regular to ask or share about what I go through, not even my parents or siblings or my spouse. So I spent a lot of time ‘googling’, looked for books, podcasts, webinars. Then the club came. Now I get to regularly interact with ‘real’ people. I learn from the stories and experiences of other parents. I am able to better execute/apply whatever I learn (inside or outside the club) because of the club.
Reflective Parent Club MemberOhio, USA
I’m more mindful in pausing and also more intentional with my goals/values when making decisions. I think I’m also more in touch with my inner self and being more aware in connecting with my children. However, when I have a couple weeks that are more busy and I’m unable to join the weekly calls, I realize that I become less in touch with all this, so being present to the meetings helps a lot more than I thought!

I feel more present, mindful because of the weekly check ins. I get to test and try new techniques for a week then report back the following week. It keeps me accountable. I also learned how to recognize, acknowledge and express my emotions in a healthy way.

Meet Our Founder: From Neuroscientist to Parental Well-being Pioneer
As a neuroscientist, I spent years studying the intricacies of emotions and the brain. But it wasn’t until I stepped away from academia to raise my own children that I truly understood the emotional challenges parents face.
This personal journey led me to create Curious Neuron, initially as a resource for understanding child development. However, I quickly realized a crucial truth: to support our children effectively, we must first nurture our own emotional well-being as parents.
Drawing on my scientific background, I transformed Curious Neuron into a globally recognized platform that shares the science of emotions with parents. We offer:
- Science-backed tools for emotional regulation and mindfulness
- Accessible resources for improving communication and conflict resolution
- A proactive approach to mental health, putting control in parents’ hands
Our mission is simple: to help parents create emotionally intelligent homes that reduce their stress, nurture their well-being and support their child’s emotional development.
Parents can learn by reading our blog posts, listen to the Curious Neuron Podcast, following us on socially media or getting support through our 1:1 emotion regulation coaching program or our membership called the Reflective Parent Club.Â

Frequently asked questions
How much time do I need to commit?
We know parents are busy and we don’t want to add too much on your already full plate. You are committing to 1-hour per week for our weekly calls and the rest (in terms of how often you want to join the community online) is up to you!
How do I know if this is for me?
- Do you struggle with managing your emotions?
- Have you been feeling stressed or overwhelmed lately?
- Do you have a child younger than 10?
- Do you feel like there is no one you can ask your parenting question to?
- Are you looking for ways to strengthen the quality of your relationships (through emotional intelligence skills)
If you answered yes to at least 2 of these points, then you would benefit from this membership!
Can I try it out for FREE before making a commitment to this?
Yes! Our memberships come with a 5 day FREE trial. If you give it a try and feel like this is not for you, then you cancel before the trial ends.
When you join, it will ask you for your credit card number but you can cancel before the end of the trial period in case this is not for you and your credit card will not be charged. If there are any issues, you can email us at info@strathmorecreative.click.
What is a Weekly Reflection Call? Is it therapy?
No, these calls are not therapy. Every week, we reflect on a given topic in a live Zoom call. We chat about our experiences around this topic, our founder Dr. Cindy Hovington PhD (she is a neuroscientist that specializes in emotional health) shares her insights about the topic and helps guide you if you are struggling with this. All topics are entered around an aspect of emotional intelligence (self-awareness, emotion regulation, relationship and social skills, stress management, effective parenting skills, emotional development in children and mindfulness/self-compassion).
At the end of the call, we take 10 min to journal about our thoughts and feelings around this topic.
**If you want to join the calls to simply listen you can. You don’t have to turn your camera on either. You can join the conversation in the chat. We want you to feel comfortable.
Can I cancel my membership at any time?
Yes! You can cancel anytime. We also have various packages (monthly, quarterly, yearly) to meet your needs (i.e. if you are going through a challenging time, you might only need this for a few months).
How long will it take before I see a difference in my home?
Working on how we manage emotions takes time and practice, just like strength training does! If you join the weekly calls and take the time to implement what you learn and reflect on, you can expect to start noticing a difference around the 6-week mark. This is what our current members have noticed.
Do you prefer 1:1 coaching over a membership?
Book an intro call with our founder Cindy Hovington to get personalized support from her. (Sessions focus on building practices that support your well-being and support your child’s emotional development. Rate: $149/hr or purchase a package to get ongoing support at a lower rate)
